The 2022 Nissan Rogue features a turbo-boosted 4-cylinder engine that generates 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque while sipping gas for an average gas mileage of 30 mpg city and 37 mpg highway. Nissan’s engineers came up with a new engine design that generates lower compression ratios while delivering more performance.

The VC-Turbo is more than capable of delivering the boost you need to pass slow-moving vehicles without thinking about it. At the heart of the engine is the world’s first variable compression engine, paired with an Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT). But this is not the fallible CVT of the past.

The Xtronic CVT is designed to reduce internal friction while the gear ratios are 14% wider than in previous versions for the best in gas mileage. A new dual pump system allows the gears to change quicker and easier than before. All of this is paired with a 2WD or available AWD that acts like a 4WD when needed.

Supporting the drivetrain is a suspension and steering package that consists of independent strut front suspension, independent multi-link rear suspension, stabilizer bars in the front and rear, and vehicle-speed-sensitive electric power steering. All this rests on 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
